(PLAINVIEW-OLD BETHPAGE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) had the high honor of recognizing nine of Newsday’s Top 100 high school senior athletes who hail from the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District during a special Tuesday, June 17 ceremony at the high school.
The honorees included Emily Brake and Emma Heaney (basketball); Lara Glasser and Rachel Ganz (flag football); Josophina Casvikes and Marisa Schlossman (gymnastics); Myla Tizzard (soccer); Avery Desner (softball) and Josh Grossfeld (boys’ volleyball). Deputy Minority Leader Drucker also honored Brianne Knight for being recognized by Newsday for continued excellence as coach of the Plainview-Old Bethpage girls’ volleyball team.
“Powered by diligence and dedication, the students of Plainview-Old Bethpage and communities across Nassau County fill their hometowns with pride through their outstanding competitive achievements,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Congratulations to these accomplished young athletes for all they have accomplished, kudos to Coach Brianne Knight for her leadership, and thank you to Newsday for recognizing the hard work of these young athletes!”
