(VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) – In observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Nassau County and across America, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) partnered with Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, Inside Out Impact, Inc., the Inside Out Run Club, the annual Dr. Elsy Mecklembourg-Guibert Memorial Breast Cancer Walk/Run/Roll at Valley Stream’s Arthur J. Hendrickson Park in Valley Stream on Saturday, Oct. 10. Participants in the event honored survivors, uplifted those currently in treatment, and remembered the lives lost to breast cancer.
“Dr. Elsy Mecklembourg-Guibert was an inspirational community leader who inspired so many people to step up, give back, and commit themselves to helping others,” Legislator Solages said. “Her passion for promoting health and cancer awareness was unparalleled, and holding this event during Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a fitting tribute to her life’s work. It was so gratifying to see hundreds of supporters honoring an incredible advocate like Dr. Mecklembourg-Guibert by doing their part to breathe new life into the cause she dedicated so much of her life to.”
