(ELMONT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Elmont) celebrated the grand opening of Sanjha Punjab Supermarket in Elmont on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Located at 1631 Dutch Broadway, the locally owned market specializes in South Asian cuisine and fresh produce among its core offerings. Legislator Solages presented the owners with a Nassau County Legislature Citation in commemoration of the momentous occasion.
“Supermarkets are more than places to buy groceries – they serve as essential community hubs that reflect the unique diversity of the neighborhood it serves,” Legislator Solages said. “It is a tremendous privilege to represent such a culturally diverse and vibrant community in the Legislature, and it was my pleasure to congratulate the owners of Sanjha Punjab Supermarket on their grand opening. I wish them tremendous success as they serve the residents of Elmont in the months and years to come.”
