(CARLE PLACE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) secured approval of a $200,000 Community Revitalization Project (CRP) grant for the Carle Place Union Free School District on Monday, July 27. The funding will support the purchase and installation of new auditorium seating at Rushmore Avenue School, where the auditorium is currently undergoing renovations as part of a capital improvement project approved by district voters in May 2025.
“Carle Place UFSD is very grateful to Legislator Viviana Russell for her generous support of our students and her constituents,” said Carle Place School District Superintendent Ted Cannone. “Her CRP award for new auditorium seating at Rushmore Avenue Elementary School will be enjoyed by generations of families! Support of this kind goes beyond dollars and cents because it cements the positive relationship between the Carle Place Schools, Legislator Russell, and the community we both serve.”
“Time and again, embracing a robust art and music education curriculum has proven to be tremendously beneficial to young scholars, and it is vital to provide them with platforms for gaining real-world experience in the use of the skills and talents that they are honing,” Legislator Russell said. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to deliver these funds to the Carle Place School District in support of their commitment to delivering a well-rounded public education to our youth.”
