(WESTBURY, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) secured the unanimous passage of a $150,075 Community Revitalization Program (CRP) grant for the Incorporated Village of Westbury’s Recreation Complex on Monday, July 27.
Funds will be applied toward the completion of significant upgrades, including HVAC upgrades, roof repairs, and gutter replacement for the Recreation Center. The funding will also cover infrastructure improvements such as new front steps at the Senior Center, replacing the front walk, installing front steps for the recreation office, and building a new asphalt walk from the parking lot to Linden Avenue. Additionally, new handrails will be installed on all sides of the complex, including at the Senior Center’s south side ramp.
“We’re deeply appreciative of Legislator Russell’s commitment to making sure that the Village has needed resources to make investments in our facilities and infrastructure,” said
Village of Westbury Mayor Peter I. Cavallaro. “This CRP grant will enable us to make improvements at our Community Center and Recreation campus that will make them more accessible and modernized, and upgrade these facilities for our seniors, children and others who attend events or participate in programs there.”
