(HICKSVILLE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) joined the Northwest Civic Association of Hicksville at Cantiague Park on Saturday, July 25 for their annual community barbecue and picnic. There, more than 100 people enjoyed a barbecue with perfect summer weather that helped to raise funds for the Civic Association’s annual Secret Santa program. “There are many ways that organizations like the Northwest Civic Association of Hicksville improve quality of life in addition to organizing and advocacy – events like their annual barbecue foster camaraderie in the communities they serve and support charitable endeavors,” Legislator Russell said. “Thank you to everyone for welcoming me to this wonderful summer tradition – I look forward to joining you at many more events in the years to come!”
