(UNIONDALE and HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) proudly attended the graduation ceremony for Nassau County’s newest police officers on Monday, May 18. Recruits completed 7 months of intense basic training at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence. The class of 96 graduates includes Officers Miguel Dias Freitas, of Westbury, Selena Huang and Michael White, of Hempstead (pictured), and Corey Gold, of Jericho.
“Excellence and professionalism in law enforcement are essential to building trust and strengthening the relationship between officers and the communities they serve, and it is those standards that help foster a strong commitment to community policing that benefits us all,” Legislator Russell said. “I wish each of the graduates continued success and safety as they undertake the noble responsibility of serving and protecting the residents of Nassau County."
