(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) supported the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) Long Island Chapter at its Fall Gala and Awards Dinner at Jericho Terrace on Thursday, Oct. 15. The evening recognized outstanding leaders and community advocates who continue to make a meaningful difference through their dedication to organized labor, public service, and community empowerment.
“This year’s theme, ‘Cherishing Our Legacies, While Walking in the Footsteps of Our Ancestors,’ serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of honoring those who paved the way while continuing their work for future generations,” Legislator Russell said. “Congratulations to all the honorees and thank you to the CBTU Long Island Chapter for its continued commitment to advancing opportunity, supporting scholarships, and strengthening our communities!”
