(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) proudly supported the Long Island Pride Lions as they launched their successful Community Care Drive on Sunday, July 27. Held at the North Village Tavern, the summer celebration gathered essentials for families and individuals in need across Long Island, including travel-size toiletries, socks and underwear, snacks, gift cards, water bottles, personal hygiene products, and more. The drive, which ran through Sunday, Aug. 10, was spearheaded by North Village Tavern owner Gina Caggiano Wuestmann and the Pride Lions, which is one of a handful of LGBTQ+ Lions Clubs in America.
“Since launching their trailblazing club, the Long Island Pride Lions have gone above and beyond in rallying the local LGBTQ+ community and its allies to make a positive impact throughout our region,” Legislator Davis said. “It was truly wonderful that there was such an enthusiastic response for an event that is all about supporting families in need, and I thank Gina and the Pride Lions for taking the lead on such an important endeavor.”
