(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) secured the unanimous passage of a $40,000 Community Revitalization Project (CRP) grant for the Incorporated Village of Rockville Centre on Monday, July 27.
The funds will be applied toward the installation of outdoor exercise equipment that is being donated to the Village by Mercy Hospital. The installation will be situated along the trail that surrounds the playground and courts at Veterans Park located on the site of the Rockville Centre Recreation Center.
“Parks are an important part of a healthy community, and the addition of outdoor fitness equipment at Veterans Park will create new opportunities for residents of all ages to stay active, improve their health, and enjoy the outdoors,” said Mayor Francis X. Murray, Village of Rockville Centre. “We are grateful to Mercy Hospital for donating the exercise equipment and to Legislator Scott Davis for securing the grant funding for its installation, which will make this project possible. This investment builds on our commitment to providing recreational amenities that enhance quality of life and encourage healthy living. We appreciate Legislator Davis’s continued support of the Village of Rockville Centre.”
