(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the community in proudly celebrating Hempstead High School’s graduating class of 2026 on Friday, June 26.
During the ceremony, Legislator Davis had the privilege of honoring Melva Ramirez Zavala, who earned the prestigious Gates Scholarship and will be studying nursing at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
“Four years of hard work, creativity and determination led the students of Hempstead High School to this wonderful moment – and the best part is that their stories are only beginning,” Legislator Davis said. “It is always a joy to join the students of my alma mater as they celebrate this milestone and set their sights upon a bright future!”
