(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – More than 130 job hunters met employers at Hempstead’s Kennedy Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 23 during Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis’ (D – Rockville Centre) summer job fair.
Presented in partnership with Incorporated Village of Hempstead Mayor Waylyn Hobbs, Jr. and the New York State Department of Labor, the event attracted nearly three dozen employers, creating a one-stop shop where job seekers perused multiple employment opportunities from diversified local enterprises. In addition, the Long Island Cares Mobile Food Assistance Van was on site to provide nutrition assistance to individuals in need.
“By bringing so many employers and resources together under one roof at Kennedy Memorial Park, it is my hope that we created an atmosphere where job seekers of all ages could explore opportunities and take meaningful steps toward a stronger and more prosperous future,” Legislator Davis said. “It was a pleasure to work with Mayor Hobbs, the New York Department of Labor, and all of our partners to host this event, and I was heartened by the enthusiastic response from the greater Hempstead community.”
