(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) and Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) again proudly co-sponsored Sanitary District No. 2’s springtime Operation Shed-The-Meds, document shredding, and E-Cycling drop-off day. The Saturday, May 16 event was presented with key support from the Town of Hempstead Employees Federal Credit Union, the Nassau County Police Department, the Baldwin Council Against Drug Abuse, and other local elected officials.
During the event, Baldwin, South Hempstead, and Roosevelt residents within Sani 2’s service area securely disposed of unwanted prescription medication, electronic waste, and documents containing sensitive personal data at the District’s Baldwin garage.
“We are glad that so many families took advantage of this important opportunity to protect their privacy, safeguard the environment, and prevent prescription from falling into the wrong hands,” Legislator Davis said. “I look forward to this being the first of many Sani 2 initiatives that I will have the opportunity to support in the months and years to come!”
“It is always a pleasure to work with Sani 2, our community partners and local leaders to provide this convenient, secure way for our constituents to dispose of unwanted documents, medications and e-waste all at once – and all at no cost,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said.
