(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the Incorporated Village of Rockville Centre and the leaders of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center for their annual Mother’s Day brunch on Saturday, May 9 – where moms and mother figures were treated to a delicious meal and made memories in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
“From the perspective of someone who lost his mother to cancer at a young age, I know all too well how important it is to cherish every moment with our loved ones,” Legislator Davis said. “The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center should be commended for making this event so special year after year, and I am thankful to Patrick Morris, Sharon Sheppard and Karen Mobley, and the entire team at the MLK Center for their tireless efforts.”
Legislator Davis currently serves as Vice President of the RVC Friends of MLK, a not-for-profit organization which is dedicated to supporting and growing youth, adult, senior, and community programming for Rockville Centre’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center. Since opening in 1971, the Center has developed a schedule of academic, social, and support programs for youth, teens, adults, seniors, and the greater community.
