WHAT –Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) is pleased to announce that the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps will host an emergency preparedness workshop at the Rockville Centre Recreation Center on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Presented by the State’s Citizen Preparedness Corps, the workshops equip residents with the tools and resources to prepare for any type of natural or man-made disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family participating will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit filled with emergency prep essentials like a radio, flashlight, batteries, freshwater packets, food packs, heavy-duty gloves, tarp, emergency blanket, water container, glow stick and whistle.
“From my dual perspectives as a father and a public servant, I know how important it is for our families to have the knowledge and tools to navigate an emergency and rebound from any setback that may be thrown in our path,” Legislator Davis said. “I am thrilled to be partnering with New York State to bring these vital resources to our community, and I urge anyone who is interested in learning more about emergency preparedness to take advantage of this opportunity.”
