WHAT – Following the overwhelming success of their June job fair, Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) is once again partnering with the New York State Department of Labor and Hempstead Works to host a “Fresh Start” Job Fair at Hempstead Village’s Kennedy Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Open to all career seekers, the September job fair is geared toward providing resources to people who are seeking new beginnings after their involvement in the justice system.
In June, Legislator Davis’ first job fair attracted more than 130 job seekers and nearly three dozen employers, creating a one-stop shop where job seekers perused multiple employment opportunities from diversified local enterprises.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of public service is connecting constituents with resources that help them to embark upon positive new chapters in their lives. For people who have recently been involved with the justice system, a good job can be the foundation for a productive and stable future,” Legislator Davis said. “Working together with our partners at Hempstead Village, Hempstead Works and the Department of Labor, I am confident that we will be able to create even more opportunities and make a positive impact for all who are seeking a fresh start.”
