(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the community and his colleagues in government at the Mill River Park Complex on Saturday, July 11 for the South Shore Symphony’s Outdoor Pops Concert. During the event, which dates back to 1993 and features a full symphony performance and Grucci fireworks show, Legislator Davis joined Mayor Francis X. Murray in paying tribute to the late Wayne Lipton, a noted community leader and principal cellist for the South Shore Symphony.
“Rockville Centre could not have put together a more perfect tribute to America’s 250th birthday than music under the stars with a breathtaking fireworks display on a perfect summer night,” Legislator Davis said. “Its continued success is a fitting tribute to our friend and colleague Wayne Lipton, whose passion for the arts and leadership within countless Rockville Centre cultural organizations is sorely missed. Thank you to the South Shore Symphony for supporting this great tradition and to the Rockville Centre community for its continuous embrace of the arts.”
