(ROSLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined Paws of War and their supporters at The Royalton Mansion on Thursday, April 23 for their Hearts & Heroes gala. There, Legislator Davis joined supporters in honoring Purple Heart recipients Sergeant Ryan Kissoon and Specialist Michael Branch, as well as Sergeants Kai Garnette, Anabel Zuniga, and Naraly Garcia for their bravery amidst the Tower 22 drone attack in Jordan.
The mission of Paws of War is to support veterans, first responders, and their families through service dogs, emotional support animals, and life-changing programs that restore hope, healing, and independence. The gala additionally spotlighted the organization’s War-Torn Program, which rescues vulnerable animals from war zones and reunites them with the brave U.S. service members who found comfort, strength, and love in them while serving overseas.
“Through unwavering advocacy and essential resources it delivers to our veterans and first responders, Paws of War provides support and comfort for the men and women who served our nation so selflessly,” Legislator Davis said. “It was a privilege to be a part of this celebration of these American heroes and see first-hand how Paws of War is changing lives on a daily basis.”
