Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) hosted an ice cream social for the residents of Bethany House on Sunday, Aug 17. During the gathering, Legislator Davis explained his role as a Legislator and discussed community concerns with residents.
Bethany House operates shelters where they focus on fulfilling a mission of providing a safe haven for healing and personal growth for women and mothers with children facing homelessness. To guide clients to more stable lives, permanent housing and self-sufficiency, staff and volunteers deliver trauma-informed services, comprehensive health care and dedicated case management that focuses on educational and employment growth opportunities.
“Bethany House is a beacon of hope for women, mothers and children who are working to overcome hardships and tremendous challenges in their lives, and I am humbled by any opportunity to support their vital work,” Legislator Davis said. “I had a wonderful time speaking with the residents during my visit and am thankful to Jane McCabe for welcoming me to a facility that serves such an important role in our community.”
