WHAT – In observance of March as Women’s History Month, Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport), Freeport Village Mayor Robert T. Kennedy; New York State Senator Siela A. Bynoe (D – Westbury), Assemblymembers Judy Griffin (D – Rockville Centre) and Noah Burroughs (D – Hempstead), and an array of community organizations to host a Women’s Health Fair at the Freeport Recreation Center on Thursday, March 19.
The event will offer attendees a wide array of free information, services and screenings from trusted community partners focused on key women’s health issues including mental health, reproductive care, physical fitness, preventative healthcare strategies, nutrition and more.
“As a social worker and mother, I know that knowledge is power when it comes to restoring, preserving and improving our health, and how it is especially important to ensure that everyone can access care without cost being an obstacle,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I am so proud to be working with so many of our partners in government and local healthcare providers to once again mark Women’s History Month with an event that empowers women to take charge of our health and thrive all throughout the year.”
