(OCEANSIDE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) partnered with the Nassau County Department of Assessment to bring the Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program (HELP) to the Oceanside Library on Tuesday, July 23. During HELP events, Department of Assessment staff personally help homeowners with completing applications and filing for veteran, senior citizen, Cold War veteran, volunteer firefighter and ambulance worker, and limited-income disability exemptions – all in one convenient visit.
“Not only does the HELP program provide expert, hands-on assistance that makes the process of completing your applications smooth and simple, being able to submit your forms during the same event adds another level of convenience,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “If you haven’t yet completed your applications, there are still upcoming workshops throughout the County that will help you to ensure that you pay only your fair share of property taxes – and not a cent more. Thank you to John McQuade and his entire team at the Department of Assessment for all your hard work!”
The Oceanside workshop was part of Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé’s HELP workshop series for 2026, which included events in Freeport on July 15 and Baldwin, with Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre), on July 23.
