(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the Freeport Historical Society, her colleagues in government, and other community leaders on the steps of Freeport Village Hall on Wednesday, July 8 for a ceremonial 250th anniversary reading of the Declaration of Independence. Following the ceremony, participants headed to Jeremy’s Ale House on the Nautical Mile for a Revolutionary War-themed lunch. “As America commemorates its 250th anniversary as a beacon of self-governance for the world, it is an ideal time to reflect on the principles of the document that became the foundation of our independence and draw inspiration from it as we fight for a more just and perfect union,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I am thankful to the Freeport Historical Society for gathering our community for such a meaningful exercise during\ this historic milestone.”
