(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the Rotary Club of Freeport-Merrick and General Needs, Ltd. for their annual “Epic Day of Service” at Freeport High School on Saturday, May 16. During the event, volunteers stuffed duffle bags with daily necessities for homeless veterans, such as clothes and toiletries. “Nassau County is home to one of our nation’s largest veteran populations, and each of us must do our part to ensure everyone who served our nation has the resources they need to live with dignity,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé, the ranking member of the Legislature’s Veterans and Seniors committee, said. “It is my honor to support this annual program’s mission, and I remain committed to the cause of ending veteran homeless in our County and the United States.”
