(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – As part of June’s observance as LGBTQ+ Pride Month in America and across the world, Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the community for the Nautical Mile Pride Festival in Freeport on Saturday, June 20. Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé proudly signed on as a municipal sponsor for the event, which included a Pride motorcade, music festival and vendor market, numerous drag shows, an interactive screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at Sparkle on Stage, children’s activities, and more.
“Events like Nautical Mile Pride shine an essential light upon the contributions, character, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community and send a clear message to others that they are not alone,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “During Pride and all year long, I stand with the LGBTQ+ community in its continued pursuit of equality and justice, and I thank Robyn Workman, her team, and all of the community sponsors for working so diligently to bring this celebration to life along the historic Nautical Mile.”
