WHAT – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) are hosting a school supply drive on Saturday, Aug. 15 in support of the 21st annual Trimz “Cutz for EDU” back-to-school celebration.
Requested donations include composition and spiral notebooks; pencils (mechanical and/or unsharpened); black and blue pens; two-pocket folders, and miscellaneous supplies such as child-safe scissors, pencil case, glue sticks, headphones, erasers, looseleaf paper and 12-inch rulers.
“The cost of school supplies should never be an obstacle that prevents our children from excelling in the classroom,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “Every donation will help to prepare a student in our community to thrive, and I encourage you to give what you can to make a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors.”
“Back-to-school season is an exciting time, but it is also a challenging one for families that are struggling to make ends meet – especially as prices for fuel and daily essentials continue to soar,” Legislator Davis said. “Your support will make a huge impact in the lives of deserving local students through the upcoming Cutz for EDU back-to-school celebration!”
All donations will help to prepare children and families for the 2026-27 school year and be provided to District 1 and 6 students at no cost through the “Cutz for EDU” event, which is set for 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22.
