(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) partnered with Village of Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy, the Freeport Police and Fire Departments, and an array of businesses, not-for-profit agencies, and community stakeholders to host National Night Out 2026 at Freeport’s Bishop White Memorial Park (Northeast Park) on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
For more than 40 years, thousands of communities have hosted National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
During the evening, hundreds enjoyed an event filled with activities for all ages, educational resources for families, raffles, snacks, demonstrations by the Freeport Police and Fire Departments, and more.
“As someone who raised her children in Freeport and has been active in the community for many years, I am thrilled that National Night Out is a cherished tradition that strengthens connections and forges authentic partnerships with the local first responders that keep us safe,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “It is a pleasure to work with so many committed community partners and our colleagues in government, law enforcement, and public service to bring this event to our community each year!”
