(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) supported the Long Island Children Museum’s annual STEM Weekend. Held on April 18 and 19 and adhering to a theme of “We Need The Sea And The Sea Needs Me,” the event provided young visitors with interactive educational opportunities that highlighted Long Island’s maritime culture and the importance of preserving our waterways.
“Waterfront communities like Freeport, Baldwin and Oceanside and all of those found across Long Island rely on healthy aquatic ecosystems for economic prosperity, recreation, and our quality of life,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I can think of few more important things than helping our children appreciate the importance of our natural resources, and I thank the Long Island Children’s Museum and all of the participating groups for making this event a success.”
