(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) applauded Governor Kathy Hochul’s delivery of significant aid to the Incorporated Village of Freeport through the State’s FY 2027 Temporary Municipal Assistance (TMA) program.
Under the formula released on Thursday, Feb. 19, Freeport will receive $189,156 as part of a $150 million statewide program that seeks to ease cost burdens faced by cities, towns, and villages as they continue to provide exceptional services and preserve quality of life.
“Freeport Village is one of Nassau County’s most economically diverse communities, and during times of increased fiscal strain for residents, it is more vital than ever to preserve services without placing an undue burden upon taxpayers,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “As a longtime village resident, I applaud Governor Hochul for delivering these funds to Freeport and supporting initiatives that seek to preserve our quality of life and combat the cost-of-living crisis in our region.”
