(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) and Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined forces with their colleagues in government and community organizations to host National Night Out at the Brookside School in Baldwin, in partnership with the Baldwin Civic Association, the Nassau County Police Department, Baldwin Fire Department and an array of community stakeholders on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

During the evening, hundreds enjoyed an event filled with activities for all ages, educational resources for families, raffles, snacks, demonstrations by the Nassau County Police Department’s First Precinct, Baldwin Fire Department, and more.

“In communities like Baldwin all across America, National Night Out has become a cherished tradition that strengthens connections and forges authentic partnerships with the local first responders who keep us safe,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “It is a pleasure to work with Legislator Davis and so many of our committed community partners and our colleagues in government, law enforcement, and public service to bring this event to our community each year!”

“Thanks to the hard work of so many community partners, National Night Out is an evening where families from coast to coast have fun and meet the men and women from the local law enforcement, first responders, and civic organizations that serve and strengthen our communities,” Legislator Davis said. “Thank you to all of the families that attended this year’s event and everyone who continued toward the success of this unifying summer tradition.”
