
(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) are encouraging residents to support a fundraising campaign for major improvements to the Baldwin Scout House.
Leaders of the Baldwin Boys Association, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that spearheads maintenance of the cabin and the grounds, is working to raise $50,000 to fund essential upgrades, including a replacing the sewer line, repairing the roof, upgrading the electrical and HVAC systems, completing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades, and landscaping.
Individuals interested in supporting the effort can donate directly to a GoFundMe established in support of the mission.
“For generations of local youth, the Baldwin Scout House has been instrumental in their Boy and Girl Scout journeys, and it is imperative to preserve these opportunities for those who want to follow in their path,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I encourage you to give what you can to support this effort, and I will continue working with Legislator Davis and community leaders to secure County funds to further bolster this effort.”
“Scouting provides Nassau County residents from all walks of life with unique opportunities to build their leadership skills through hands-on community service initiatives that benefit us all,” Legislator Davis said. “That is why it is imperative to preserve the Baldwin Scout House for future generations of young leaders, and I am committed to working with Legislator Mulé and Baldwin’s community leaders to fulfill this mission.”
