(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) proudly joined the greater Baldwin community on Saturday, June 21 in honoring the memory of retired FDNY Firefighter George J. Tripptree with a road renaming ceremony. The unveiling of “George Tripptree Way” at the corner of Parkview Place and Fairview Avenue paid tribute to Tripptree, a firefighter with Ladder 173 who battled 9/11-related illnesses after his service at the World Trade Center and succumbed on Sept. 23, 2022.
“George Tripptree’s story illustrates the courage and selflessness demonstrated by the men and women who, on Sept. 11, 2001, answered the call of duty and rushed toward unimaginable danger to save lives,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “By enshrining his name in the heart of the Baldwin community, we are ensuring that the sacrifice he and hundreds of first responders made on that devastating day will never be forgotten.”
