Mulé Invites Residents to Securely Discard Medications, Documents and Electronics

WHAT - Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) is once again proudly co-sponsoring Sanitary District No. 2’s autumn Operation Shed-The-Meds, document shredding, and E-Cycling drop-off day – an event presented with key support from the Town of Hempstead Employees Federal Credit Union, the Nassau County Police Department, the Baldwin Council Against Drug Abuse, and other local elected officials.

From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, Baldwin, South Hempstead and Roosevelt residents within Sani 2’s service area will have the opportunity to securely dispose of unwanted prescription medication, electronic waste, and documents containing sensitive personal data at the District’s Baldwin garage.

“With cooler weather fast approaching, the leaders of Sani 2 know it’s a great time to clear our homes of unwanted documents, medications and e-waste – and that is why I am thrilled to once again be partnering with them, local community leaders and my colleagues in local government and law enforcement to host this event,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this no-cost, convenient opportunity to safeguard your privacy, protect the environment, and prevent your unwanted medications from falling into the wrong hands.”
