WHAT – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) is partnering with New York State Assemblymember Judy Griffin, the Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, the Baldwin Civic Association and Town of Hempstead Sanitary District No. 2 to host a community cleanup at Lofts Pond in Baldwin on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Garbage bags will be provided by organizers; participants are encouraged to bring pokers, rakes, grabbers, gloves and other supplemental tools. To safeguard against ticks and other hazards, attendees are encouraged to wear long sleeves, pants, socks, and other protective attire.
“There is no better way of marking the start of a new season than rolling up our sleeves and giving one of Baldwin’s cherished natural treasures some much-deserved TLC,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I hope you’ll join me, Assemblymember Griffin, Sani 2 and Baldwin community leaders as we give Lofts Pond a ‘clean sweep’ into autumn!”
Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to RSVP with Assemblymember Griffin’s office at 516-561-8216.
