(OCEANSIDE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Baldwin) welcomed the members of Cub Scouts Pack 230 to her Mobile Office Hours event at the Oceanside Library on Tuesday, Sept. 9. During their conversation, which was part of the Scouts’ local government unit, Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé spoke about her experience running for office, the role of the Nassau County Legislature; the lawmaking process; and the importance of voting and being an active participant in democracy.
“Locally and across the nation, the Cub Scouts do an amazing job of providing essential civics education and cultivating a passion for service above self in all aspects of their lives,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “It was a pleasure to speak to these future leaders as part of their government unit, and I thank Pack 230 Cub Master Kevin Harrison for reaching out and bringing us together!”
