(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the community at the Baldwin Public Library on Sunday, Oct. 19 to help create a mosaic mural as part of the Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals (CHARM) program.
CHARM is part of an initiative, spearheaded by Governor Kathy Hochul and administered by the New York State Council of the Arts (NYSCA), in which 11 community partners are creating 56 new murals across the state. In Baldwin, the community is partnering with the Huntington Arts Council to create the Octavia mural, which will be permanently installed at the Library at the end of the month.
“Nassau County’s public libraries are so much more than just repositories of books – they are vibrant community centers that stimulate minds, unlock passions and elevate the arts,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I’m so thrilled that I had a chance to help create this mural, and I thank the State, the Baldwin community and the Huntington Arts Council for creating this exciting opportunity!”
