(FREEPORT, BALDWIN and OCEANSIDE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) partnered with the Nassau County Department of Assessment to bring the Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program (H.E.L.P.) to the Freeport Memorial Library in partnership with Legislator Seth I. Koslow on Tuesday, July 22 (pictured, top); the Baldwin Public Library in partnership with Legislator Scott M. Davis on Tuesday, Aug. 19 (pictured, left) and the Oceanside Library on Thursday, Aug. 28 (pictured, right).
During this workshop series, over 100 homeowners received personalized assistance from Department of Assessment professionals with completing and filing their veteran, senior citizen, Cold War veteran, volunteer firefighter and ambulance worker, and limited-income disability exemptions.
“It is always a pleasure to host programs that help homeowners reduce their taxes, and the Department of Assessment makes this process easier and more convenient through the H.E.L.P. initiative,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “As the series of District 6 workshops conclude, it is important to know that the Nassau County Department of Assessment will continue to host this program throughout the County. I am thankful to John McQuade and his team for sharing these valuable resources with the communities we serve!”
