(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the panel of “Know the System, Change the System: A Micro-to-Macro Approach to Advocacy, Voting and Healing)” at the John J. Byrne Community Center in Uniondale on Thursday, Sept. 18.
Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé, who is a social worker and 1980 Uniondale High School graduate, was on a panel featuring Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin, community advocate Tammie Williams-Pittman; and Hempstead School Board Trustee Joylette Williams.
Participants in the event, which was moderated by Jessica Mitchell and presented in partnership with the Women’s Diversity Network, Helping Hands Psychotherapy, Long Island Counseling, the Association of Social Work Boards, and NYSED, received 2 continuing education credits.
“My background in social work continues to inspire my pursuit of public service and informs the decisions that I make as a Legislator on a daily basis,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I greatly appreciated having the opportunity to share my insights as part of a panel of outstanding advocates and government colleagues who are committed to uplifting families throughout our region.”
