(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) toured the Baldwin Public Library on Friday, Aug. 7. Led by Library Director Elizabeth Olesh and Assistant Director Kaysha Watson-Phillips. the tour showcased the many resources and services available to the Baldwin community, including passport acceptance services for children and first-time applicants, the social work office, the history and community rooms, and the podcast studio. He additionally received a preview of the arcade gaming room, which is being completed, and the children’s room, which is under renovation.
The Library is additionally serving as a host for Legislator Davis’ summer food drive, which continues in Baldwin through Friday, Aug. 28. Supporters can also donate at the Rockville Centre Public Library through Friday, Sept. 4.
“The multitude of services that are available at the Baldwin Public Library show are a perfect example of how the 21st century library is so much more than just bookshelves and card catalogs – it is a multifaceted community center with a full spectrum of activities and resources for all ages,” Legislator Davis said. “It was a pleasure to tour the Library with Elizabeth and Kaysha, and I am so grateful to see that the community is supporting our ongoing food drive!”
