(ROOSEVELT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined forces with New York State Senator Siela A. Bynoe and the Roosevelt Union Free School District on Friday, Sept. 3 to help local students get ready for a new school year. During events at the Roosevelt Public Library and Centennial Park, Legislator Davis helped distribute hundreds of backpacks, which were secured from community sponsors by Senator Bynoe’s office, to local students so that they could return to the classroom equipped and ready to excel.
“Back-to-school season is a wonderful time of year filled with promise for local families, and having the ability to provide this support for our local students makes it all that much sweeter,” Legislator Davis said. “We are all very thankful to Senator Bynoe for marshaling these resources for local students and always being a champion of public education here in Nassau County and across the Empire State.”
