(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre proudly joined the community for the Hempstead Fire Department’s annual community day on Saturday, Aug. 8. Held at the Fire Department’s five firehouses, the outreach event featured attractions such as food and drink, face painting, bouncy castles, fire prevention and community resources, health screenings, and more.
“For generations since being formed in 1832, the Hempstead Volunteer Fire Department has done so much to protect the community through an unwavering commitment to the noble principle of selfless, courageous service,” Legislator Davis said. “The appreciation for their efforts was on full display during these Community Day events throughout the district, and I join the Village in thanking to Chief Patrick Carney, the Board of Commissioners, and all of the men and women who step up daily to keep the Village safe!”
