(ROOSEVELT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined Superintendent Dr. Shawn Wightman, the Roosevelt school community, and his colleagues in government on Tuesday, Sept. 1 to kick off the 2026-27 school year at the Superintendent’s Conference Day. In addition to the Superintendent’s remarks outlining the vision for the year ahead, the program featured the talents of Roosevelt students and recognition for the district’s dedicated staff.
“In so many ways, helping our children succeed is a team effort – and the district’s 2026-27 ‘T.E.A.M.’ philosophy – ‘Together, Everyone Achieves More!’ is a timely reminder of the power of collaboration and a message that all of American society would benefit from heeding,” Legislator Davis said. “I wish Roosevelt’s students, families and staff all the best in this new school year, and I stand at the ready to assist our school community whenever I can be of service.”
