WHAT – To support the hunger fighting mission of local food pantries, Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) is hosting a summer food drive with drop-off locations in Baldwin and Rockville Centre.
Supporters can make their contributions of unopened, non-perishable goods during normal business hours at the Baldwin Public Library through Friday, Aug. 28, or at the Rockville Centre Public Library through Friday, Sept. 4.
“As food insecurity grows rapidly amidst tough economic times and massive cuts to federal hunger-fighting programs like SNAP intensify the strain on local pantries, grassroots support is more critical than ever,” Legislator Davis said. “We hope that you’ll be able to join us and lend a helping hand as we come together to fight hunger in the communities of District 1 and all across Nassau County.”
