(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - In observance of March as Women’s History Month, Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) partnered with Nassau County Legislators Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick), New York State Senator Siela A. Bynoe (D – Westbury) and New York State Assemblywoman Judy Griffin (D – Rockville Centre) to host a Women’s Health Fair at Freeport High School on Wednesday, March 26.

Embracing the theme of “Wellness in Every Stage – Health at Every Age” – the event attracted dozens of participating agencies that provided attendees a wide array of free information, services, healthy cooking demonstrations and screenings from trusted community partners focused on key women’s health issues including but not limited to mental health, reproductive care, physical fitness, preventative healthcare strategies, nutrition and more.

“As a social worker and mother, I know how important it is to equip people with resources and knowledge so they can advocate for themselves and secure the healthcare they need and deserve to live their best lives,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “As we continue to raise awareness and promote proactive self-care, I am filled with gratitude for the healthcare providers, community leaders and government colleagues who worked with us to make this a great success.”
