(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – On Monday, May 12, Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) issued the following statement:
“I am tremendously pleased by the historic ascension of Pope Leo XIV to the Chair of St. Peter. His life’s focus upon missionary work and fulfilling the call Jesus set forth to serve and uplift the most vulnerable among us is admirable and much needed at this time in history,” Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) said. “As he begins his sacred ministry, I pray that His Holiness will find tremendous success in building upon the progress made by Pope Francis in building a Catholic Church that is more welcoming for all of God’s children.”
