(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) launched the summer season in Freeport by attending the annual Nautical Mile Festival on Saturday, June 7.
“As someone who lives within walking distance of the Nautical Mile, I look forward to the start of summer each year and how our waterfront business district comes alive,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “The Nautical Mile Festival is the unofficial kickoff to summer in our community, and it always a pleasure to celebrate this momentous occasion - thank you to the Freeport Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to participate in kicking off the season!”
“Freeport’s Nautical Mile is one of our region’s one-of-a-kind gems, and we had a wonderful day celebrating everything that makes this historic waterfront community so vibrant and special,” Legislator Koslow said. “I’m glad that the weather (mostly) held out so that the community could fully enjoy the festivities!”
