WHAT - Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) is partnering with NuHealth and local community organizations to host breast cancer screening events in Hempstead (Wednesday, May 11) and Roosevelt (Wednesday, May 18). Appointments include a breast exam from a nurse, a mammography, and self-exam instructions.
Mammograms will be available for eligible women over the age of 40 at no out-of-pocket cost; attendees with health insurance must provide a prescription from a physician, and anyone who can obtain them should bring film from past exams.
