(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) joined the greater Hempstead Village community at Kennedy Park on Thursday, Feb. 13 for the Village’s annual Black History Month celebration at Kennedy Park. “Hempstead Village presented a meaningful event that was a soaring tribute to the stories, contributions and triumphs of Black Americans from all walks of life,” Legislator Davis said. “It was an honor to be able to recognize Roger C. Miller, Sheryl Roberts, Albert “Albie” Burdette Douglas, and Bibi Boucicaut for their service to our community, and I thank Hofstra University’s Dr. Cornell Craig and CSEA-Long Island President Jarvis T. Brown for sharing such moving and reflective words.”
