[ARCHIVED] Abrahams in Partnership with Fidelis Care Hosts a Virtual Black History Month Program

WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D - Freeport) is partnering with Fidelis Care to celebrate Black History Month and honor local unsung heroes in our community on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Music by: Jeffrey Ministry & Jazz Saxophonist

Poetry by: Denise Louther Williams – “Unsung Heroes”

Song Medley by: Gabriell Baldie

Recognizing the following “Unsung Heroes:”

These local unsung heroes will be presented with citations during Legislator Abrahams and Fidelis Care’s virtual Black History Month program. Scheduled recipients include: Andrew Ayodeji, Founder of Bolden Mack Park and VP/Co-Founder of Minority Millennials; Joanna Bell-Richards, Founder of Harvest for The World; Leon Levar Broughton, CEO and Founder of Trimz Barbershop and Trimz Hair Studio; Clara Gillens-Eromosele, Community Leader; Erika Hill, Principal of Vision Street Research; Glenda Hills, Founder of Millennium Sistahs and Cari Flair Boutique; Dexter Hodge, Principal of Lawrence Road Middle School; Antonio Kelley, Founder of PichaDis Media; Dr. Carolyn McCummings, Commissioner of the Nassau County Department of Human Services; Valerie McFadden, Community Activist; Angela Perry, Community Leader; Alicia A. Ray, Founder and Creative Director of Black Owned Long Island; Dr. Jeremiah Sumter, Principal of Roosevelt Middle School; Dr. Charles Thompson III, MD of Clarity Surgical and Weight Loss Solutions; Janet Weekes, Community Leader; and Dr. Jermaine Williams,  President of Nassau Community College.
