Legislator Abrahams Hosts Tax Grievance Workshops

Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams’ (D-LD1) tax grievance workshop scheduled for Jan. 22, 2014 has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Uniondale Library, 400 Uniondale Ave., Uniondale.

The legislator’s workshops, entitled “How to file a Property Tax Grievance,” focus on the process of property valuation and how to file an appeal of the assessed value of your property if you disagree with your most recent assessment. The workshops offer FREE assistance in preparing your own tax grievance application, and provide information on other property tax exemption programs. All materials are provided and applications are available. A Q&A period is also included. Monday, Feb. 3rd, 6 – 8:30 p.m. at Hempstead Public Library, 115 Nichols Ct, Hempstead;

Thursday, Feb. 13th, 6 – 8:45 p.m. at Roosevelt Library, 27 W. Fulton Ave, Roosevelt;

Friday, Feb. 21st, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Uniondale Library, 400 Uniondale Ave., Uniondale;

Tuesday, Feb. 25th, 7 – 8:45 p.m. at East Meadow Public Library, 1886 Front St, East Meadow.

The deadline to file a grievance is Monday, Mar. 3, 2014.
