(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport) hosted the 36th annual National Night Out in Uniondale on Tuesday, August 6th. He was joined by County Executive Laura Curran, District Attorney Madeline Singas, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, Office of Emergency Management Commissioner Steven Morelli, local law enforcement, Uniondale Fire Department firefighters, community leaders and residents.

Held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is an initiative that seeks to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun, welcoming atmosphere.

“It is always an honor to host National Night Out, it is an important opportunity for our residents and our local law enforcement to come together and build a stronger community,” Legislator Abrahams said. “I cannot thank our generous partners, sponsors, volunteers, interns, law enforcement personnel and first responders enough for all they did to make this event so successful.”
